Spotlight on modern slavery compliance

Join us on demand for a conversation on the legislative obligations imposed by the Commonwealth Modern Slavery Act (MSA) which came into effect on 1 January 2019. With compliance for the first statement reporting periods fast approaching, this conversation will provide best practices on how your organisation should address its obligations under the new regime. Fiona and Marion from Fioro Legal and Charles from Whispli will discuss the following:

  • Modern Slavery today – Definition and the facts. Did you know there are still approximately 40 million victims of modern slavery worldwide, including in Australia?
  • Obligations for organisations under the MSA and purpose of the MSA
  • Practical steps that organisations can take to comply with the MSA
  • Direct benefits for organisations beyond ticking the compliance box, including enhancing corporate culture and brand reputation, and gaining a competitive advantage.
